Speaker:  Lynn Edwards, CMP

This meeting will serve as a Part I to the January 2011 program: Project Management Toolbox.

As a partner at Proper Planning, Lynn Edwards has more than 25 years of hospitality and meeting management experience.  She has successfully managed major events for a wide variety of clients including non-profits, state associations, corporate and special events.  She has built a strong industry network of partners and enjoys the challenge of being resourceful and creative for every client.  Some of her clients include the Seattle Direct Marketing Association, the Puget Sound American Marketing Association, the Washington State Hotel & Lodging Association, Nike, PEMCO, Pegasus Communications, Novo Nordisk and many more.

Lynn is well aware that Meeting Planners and Suppliers wear many hats.  Lynn Edwards is one of the rare meeting professionals who have been on the supplier and meeting planner sides of the table during her 20+ year career.  She understands that we are leaders in our organization and are responsible for the project management aspect of meeting planning, maintaining timelines, task completion, goal achievement, as well as managing the people involved in the event organization.

During this session, attendees will:

  • Learn strategies to be efficient in project management including maintaining reasonable timelines and goal achievement
  • Learn strategies for managing the people involved in task completion and event production

Attendees will also leave with an overview of what to expect for January’s Part II program to continue to build their “project management toolbox”.
